BUFFALO CHAMBER PLAYERS PRESENTS THE MUSIC OF POLAND AT ASBURY HALL
The Buffalo Chamber Players opens its 2021-2022 concert season on October 7, 2021 at 7:30pm. The concert celebrates Buffalo’s deep Polish history, featuring chamber music pieces by Polish composers from the Baroque to the contemporary. The performance is made possible through the generosity of the Aleksander and Walentyna Janta Fund of the Polish Art Club of Buffalo, Inc.
The program includes:
Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński Trio Sonata in D Major
Maria Szymanowska Serenade for Cello and Piano
Henryk Wieniawski Etudes-Caprices Op. 18 for Two Violins
Grażyna Bacewicz Trio for Oboe, Violin, and Cello
Krzysztof Penderecki Trio for Violin, Viola, and Cello
Says Artistic Director Janz Castelo, “We are excited to resume in-person concerts for our 2021-2022 season with an all-Polish program. These are great, important works that are not often heard in our region and this concert offers a rare opportunity to enjoy them live performed by our very talented musicians.”
Formed in 2007, the Buffalo Chamber Players is comprised of members of the BPO and other distinguished area musicians. The ensemble’s critically acclaimed concerts explore both historical chamber music masterworks and works by living and underrepresented composers. The ensemble’s mission is to challenge, redefine and enhance the public’s perception of chamber music and promote Buffalo as an inspiring place to live, work, and play.
Individual concert tickets are $25, or you can save 20% with a five-concert season subscription for $100. Student tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $5 with a valid student ID. A live-streamed option is available for patrons wishing to enjoy the program from the comfort of their home. Free parking is available for the event in the Asbury Hall lot and along Delaware Avenue.
